Chatting with a work colleague from a different team recently and she asked how old I am. "Thirty-seven", I answer. I'm not sure her age but I'm guessing somewhere in the late twenties.
She expressed shock at my age, having believed me to be much younger and then commented, "wow, you look great..considering you're almost forty!"
Gotta love the Germans for their "honesty, right?".
Oh man, those backhanded compliments. Smh.
ReplyDeleteI lived in Thailand for some years. I always brace myself when I go back - they'll tell me I look fat, or comment (not nicely) on my hair colour, etc etc etc. They are very blunt and get very personal sometimes. So I can relate! At least she said you look great. lol
ReplyDeleteOh, goodness. As a fellow almost 37 (less than a month to go), I think the Benedict Cumberbatch eyebrow lift there says it all!
