  1. I see what you did there on Die Hard. ;)

Yes, I hate the crowds on Christmas. Even in Japan Christmas can get huge crowds. Here it's all about Santa and the consumerism because most Japanese aren't Christian.

    Those Christmas gifts sound amazing.

    Happy new Year!

    1. I ended up buying most of my presents online this year as I didn't want to face the crowds. Even the crowds now during the January sales can be stressful!
I hate that it has become so much about consumerism and less about spending time with loved ones.
Yea, thoughtful gifts are the best. I've given people photo calendars a few times and they are usually well received! Happy New Year to you too :)

  2. This is lovely! I consider Die Hard a Christmas movie too, along with When Harry Met Sally and Bridget Jones' Diary. :) Crowds are crazy, and I hate the parking lots in the plazas around here, since I avoid malls like nobody's business. But, I love the togetherness, and when people are kinder than usual, and the food. And the excuse to wear dressy clothes! Happy holidays to you!

    1. Oh yeah, Bridget Jones also occured to me! Love those movies (the first two mainly). Would you believe I've never actually seen When Harry Met Sally?!
Yeah I love the togetherness to, that's a good word and people being nicer to each other. I love wearing comfy jumper dresses too

  3. What a nice list of questions (and answers, of course). They've been playing Die Hard on TV here, and we've indulged! Love Actually, too.

The food is good, of course, and I approve of your choices. Except ... custard with your mince pie? I don't think I've ever heard of that!

I envy you the Christmas markets. I have friends who went over to the UK for Christmas, and on they way, they stopped in Berlin to visit the markets.

    Happy New Year.

    1. I've watched Love Actually many times by now and I still love it! Hot mince pies with custard is really good, you should try it sometime! Otherwise I often have them with cream or ice cream.
Yeah the markets here are really something. So nice to walk around and soak in the atmosphere. Happy New Year to you too!
